The Department of Strategic Development serves as the central coordinating body of the Zamfara Economic Resilience Initiative (ZERI), functioning as its secretariat and strategic hub. It is responsible for aligning ZERI’s programs with the state’s economic development agenda, overseeing implementation, and ensuring synergy between all units. The department focuses on policy formulation, program coordination, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning to enhance economic resilience. Additionally, it facilitates partnerships with government agencies, private sector stakeholders, and development partners to drive sustainable economic initiatives.

The Enterprise Development and Innovation Unit is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship, business growth, and innovation-driven economic development. It focuses on supporting startups, small businesses, and emerging enterprises by providing capacity-building programs, facilitating access to finance, and creating market linkages. The unit also promotes private sector participation, business incubation, and technology-driven solutions to enhance economic opportunities. EDIU plays a crucial role in identifying new business opportunities and fostering innovation to strengthen Zamfara’s economic landscape.

The Department of Planning, Risk, and Mitigation plays a key role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could disrupt Zamfara’s economic stability. It focuses on financial risks, security-related threats, economic shocks, and crisis response planning. The department develops risk management frameworks, business continuity strategies, and early warning systems to enhance economic resilience. It also ensures that all ZERI initiatives incorporate proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies to safeguard long-term economic sustainability.
